Role description
Client Reporting Technical Analyst
We’re looking for a technically strong Client Reporting Technical Analyst to support the technology and data behind end-to-end client reporting within a financial services environment. This role will own the flow of reporting data from upstream systems and pipelines through final report generation and distribution, with a strong focus on SQL, data quality, reporting platforms, and production support.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Support the end-to-end client reporting workflow, including data sourcing, transformation, report generation, and distribution.
• Troubleshoot production reporting incidents, data anomalies, pipeline failures, and delivery exceptions.
• Use SQL to query and analyze complex datasets and identify root causes of reporting issues.
• Support data pipelines and understand upstream/downstream dependencies, transformations, schemas, and data lineage.
• Translate business reporting requirements into technical data and platform specifications.
• Support reporting platform upgrades, integrations, UAT, and other SDLC activities.
• Maintain data lineage, metadata, data dictionaries, and reporting documentation.
• Manage reporting enhancements, automation opportunities, and data quality improvements.
• Support ad hoc data analysis for client deliverables, regulatory reporting, and business initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
• 3–7 years of financial services experience, ideally within a buy-side asset management environment.
• Experience supporting client reporting, investment operations, or investment data.
• Strong hands-on SQL skills.
• Experience with client reporting platforms such as Seismic, Vermilion, or similar tools.
• Understanding of data pipelines, ingestion, transformation logic, data warehouses, and table/schema structures.
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse environments preferred.
• Experience with Eagle PACE, Eagle SRM, or comparable fund accounting/security master platforms strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with investment data including performance, holdings, and characteristics.
• Experience with data governance tools such as Ataccama or Collibra is a plus.
• Python or similar scripting/automation experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently trace and resolve complex data issues.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
This is a great opportunity for someone who understands both the technical data environment and the investment/client reporting lifecycle and enjoys owning problems from initial investigation through resolution.
