Azure Data Analyst / Business Analyst (Metadata & Rules)
📍 London (Hybrid – 2 days onsite) |💰 £475/day (Inside IR35) | 📅 6-Month Contract
Our client, a top global organization, is seeking an Azure Data Analyst / Business Analyst to support delivery of an enterprise data platform, focusing on business rules, metadata configuration, and data behaviour design.
As a Data Analyst / BA, you will be responsible for implementing business and regulatory requirements through metadata configuration and rule definition. You will define how business logic operates across the platform, ensuring traceability, accuracy, and alignment with business expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Translate business requirements into metadata-driven configurations
• Define business rules, calculations, classifications, and validations
• Configure rule behaviour without writing production code
• Populate and maintain control tables and mapping structures
• Define rule parameters and configuration frameworks
• Support metadata-driven processing across data layers
• Ensure traceability between requirements and configured rules
• Validate outputs against business expectations
• Support regulatory and business rule accuracy
• Work with Solution Designers and Data Engineers to support delivery of enterprise data platform solutions and translate business logic into technical configuration behaviour
Essential Skills & Experience
• Strong experience as Data Analyst / Business Analyst in data platforms
• Experience working with Azure data environments
• Understanding of metadata-driven data processing
• Experience defining business rules and data transformations
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills
• Experience working with data engineers and architects
• Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering
Desirable Skills
• Experience with Databricks or Spark-based data platforms
• Exposure to data governance and lineage concepts
• Experience in financial services / regulated environments
• Understanding of data lake or layered data architecture
