Role description
Scope Description Seeking a consultant (40 hours/week) with hands-on keyboard experience deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Candidate must be available half time in person at Fort Meade. Responsibilities include: β€’ Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for provisioning and configuring AWS services in non-production environments β€’ Review conceptual architectural models on AWS services, identify constraints and dependencies, suggest alternatives, and help define evaluation criteria β€’ Deliver general best practices for architecting on AWS services based on identified use cases β€’ Review current architecture, dependencies, and operational requirements β€’ Support AWS automation (building AMIs, system deployment, bootstrapping) and configuration for distributed high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures β€’ Provide architecture best practices for running workloads on AWS services β€’ Support migration of applications to AWS services and automation of migration/post-migration activities in non-production environments β€’ Deliver AWS best practices for cost and performance optimization β€’ Support onboarding of a partner to manage daily Operations and Maintenance in GovCloud β€’ Assess current enterprise cloud environments and identify future capabilities β€’ Assess current common services and enterprise integration services, recommending future enhancements Skills Required β€’ AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional β€’ CompTIA Security+ or equivalent β€’ Experience developing AWS Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automation of deployments into AWS GovCloud β€’ Experience advising on AWS migration best practices, specifically for AWS GovCloud β€’ Experience architecting applications in alignment with AWS best practices in AWS GovCloud β€’ Experience working in DoD environments β€’ Familiarity with DoD RMF/ATO requirements
