Job Title: Cloud Data Migration & DevOps Engineer Location: 100% Remote Contract - 06 to 12 Months + Possible Multiple ext. Pay Rate - $65 to $68hr w2. Overview We’re seeking a Cloud Data Migration & DevOps Engineer to support our Cloud Platform Migration Program, ensuring safe, efficient, and secure migration of critical data systems while enhancing automation and developer workflows. You’ll collaborate with Cloud Platform, Data Engineering, and Software teams to design migration strategies, build automation, and improve platform scalability and reliability. Key Responsibilities Data Migration • Design and execute migration plans for Postgres, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, S3, and Kafka (MSK). • Develop reliable, repeatable tooling and automation for data transfer and validation. • Ensure data integrity, security, and performance pre- and post-migration. • Diagnose and resolve schema, performance, and consistency issues. • Adhere to compliance and reliability standards throughout migration processes. DevOps & Automation • Build and enhance automation tools for CI/CD, deployments, and environment provisioning. • Improve developer productivity by identifying and removing workflow bottlenecks. • Develop self-service solutions for engineering teams to reduce dependencies. • Maintain stable, scalable, and secure cloud environments (AWS preferred). • Create and maintain clear internal documentation for migrations and DevOps workflows. • Gather feedback and metrics to continuously optimize developer experience and system performance. Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in data migration, DevOps, or platform engineering roles. • Strong experience with Postgres, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, S3, and Kafka (MSK) in production. • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Python, Go, C#, or JavaScript. • Hands-on experience with ETL pipelines, DMS, snapshot/restore, or replication techniques. • Skilled in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.) and Git. • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation). • Solid understanding of AWS cloud environments and DevOps best practices. • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
