About the Role
Our client, a prominent professional body within the finance sector, is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support the migration of on-premises infrastructure to cloud platforms. The successful candidate will work with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions, supporting the organisation’s transition to a cloud-first approach.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement cloud migration strategies.
• Manage and configure Azure and AWS resources including virtual machines, networks, storage, firewalls, and databases.
• Deploy and maintain endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune, MDM, Apple School Manager) for device compliance and updates.
• Work alongside cybersecurity personnel to enforce security measures, compliance, and conduct risk assessments.
• Modernize legacy systems into IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS models for enhanced performance and scalability.
• Create automation scripts and infrastructure templates using ARM, CloudFormation, Terraform, PowerShell, and AWS CLI.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, contribute to disaster recovery planning, and provide ongoing technical support.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and manage effective communication with vendors and stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
Required Skills & Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with expertise in Azure and AWS.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and integration with on-premises systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with mobile device/application management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect are preferred.
