Cloud Engineer

About The Role This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position. FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance. FDM is seeking a Cloud Engineer located in Austin or Southlake, TX to support a project in the Financial Services sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended. This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 4 days per week. Preferred Qualifications: • Direct GCP experience (Cloud SQL, VPC, IAM, GKE, Cloud Build, CI tooling). • Experience integrating IaC (Terraform) into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.). • Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Salt, or similar. • Understanding of cloud provider services across Database, Storage, AI/ML, and Middleware. • Experience with SCM and DevOps tool suites and CI/CD best practices. • Experience supporting mission-critical, 24x7 systems in production. • Experience building operational and high-availability processes. • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are a plus. • Financial Services industry experience is a plus. • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
