Project Scope
The Senior Cloud Security Engineer will work closely with Product Owners, Application Owners, and Security and Network teams to design and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, with responsibilities in both public and hybrid cloud models. Strong consulting skills and the ability to interpret customer needs into actionable solutions are essential.
Daily Duties & Responsibilities
• Design and deploy secure, scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure)
• Build and automate cloud security tools and accelerators
• Collaborate with Security Operations to develop and maintain SIEM, SOAR, and XDR solutions
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues across dev, test, and production environments
• Ensure security compliance (NIST, HIPAA, PII, SOX, PCI, CMMC, CUI, etc.) via monitoring, logging, and auditing
• Implement zero-trust security architecture in cloud environments
• Support security initiatives for state and local government clients
• Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagements
Required Skills (Ranked in Order of Importance)
• 5–10 years in Information Security and Engineering
• Experience with AWS and Azure infrastructure design and maintenance
• Hands-on cloud security design, operations, and automation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience documenting security tools, configurations, and incident reports
Preferred Skills
• Deployment and management of cloud VM-series Palo Alto Firewalls in AWS/Azure
• Experience with:

• F5 Load Balancer/Firewall
Education & Certifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• AWS or Azure certification

• Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer
• PCNSA / PCNSE
