Position Title: Cloud AWS Engineer β III
Location: Richmond, VA
Position Status: 1-Year Contract (Possible Extension or Contract-to-Hire)
Position Description: We are seeking a Senior Cloud AWS Engineer to join a dynamic and innovative team supporting a leading financial institution based in Richmond, VA. In this role, youβll leverage your expertise in AWS, automation, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to design, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions that power mission-critical systems.
This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with talented professionals on cutting-edge cloud projects that strengthen and protect national financial and payment systems. Required Skills & Education
β’ Bachelorβs Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
β’ 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS and other container-based platforms
β’ Proficiency in Terraform and other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools
β’ Strong background in Ansible Automation, Packer, and GitLab (or similar CI/CD, source control, and deployment technologies)
β’ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application system issues
β’ Experience in Agile environments and implementing DevOps best practices
β’ Strong understanding of change management, system monitoring, and compliance frameworks
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance and project updates
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, deploy, and manage scalable AWS infrastructure using automation and containerization best practices
β’ Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments and infrastructure updates
β’ Analyze business and technical requirements to deliver secure and resilient cloud solutions
β’ Define and document system standards, configuration management processes, and best practices
β’ Troubleshoot system issues and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime
β’ Support risk management, compliance, and audit activities for cloud environments
β’ Collaborate cross-functionally with development, operations, and security teams to ensure successful project delivery
β’ Lead or support technical projects, providing progress updates and technical documentation
