Role description
We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to support the technical design and implementation of a large-scale, cloud-based eLearning ecosystem integrating SaaS platforms, data services, identity systems, and enterprise reporting capabilities.
Role Overview
As a Cloud Engineer, you will lead the technical design and implementation of cloud infrastructure and integrations supporting a complex education technology ecosystem. This environment includes platforms such as Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), data warehouse and reporting tools, and a student portal powered by Salesforce (CRM/CMS), along with multiple integration layers across internal and external systems.
You will own cloud architecture artifacts, ensure configuration control, and apply strong change management and cybersecurity best practices to support a highly scalable platform serving tens of thousands of users annually.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Lead cloud architecture design and implementation for a scalable eLearning ecosystem
β’ Build and maintain a secure cloud infrastructure supporting Salesforce and enterprise integrations
β’ Develop and maintain architecture design documentation, diagrams, and technical runbooks
β’ Implement and enforce configuration control, change management, and operational best practices
β’ Support integrations across internal and external subsystems using secure cloud patterns
β’ Collaborate with engineering, integration, and program stakeholders to ensure end-to-end platform performance
β’ Apply cybersecurity best practices to cloud deployments and system operations
β’ Ensure platform scalability, availability, and maintainability in a multi-system environment
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
β’ 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, or cloud infrastructure delivery
β’ Experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure for enterprise environments
β’ Strong understanding of secure cloud architecture and operational best practices
β’ Ability to create and maintain technical architecture documentation and design drawings
Preferred Qualifications
β’ AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certification (Associate or Professional level)
β’ Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), such as:
β’ Terraform
β’ AWS CloudFormation
β’ Experience supporting or integrating with Salesforce (CRM/CMS/Experience Cloud) in an enterprise environment
β’ Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid architectures
Work Authorization & Eligibility Requirements
β’ Must be a U.S. Citizen
β’ Must be eligible for and capable of obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance
β’ Must be currently residing in the United States
β’ Must be willing to travel occasionally to Washington, DC, for in-person meetings
