Summary: The Senior AWS Cloud Engineer will be a vital member of the Cloud Architecture team, responsible for creating and supporting architecture, systems and processes within the AWS Cloud environment. The selected candidate will provide technical expertise and design recommendations to optimize the performance of our AWS cloud footprint. They will collaborate with architecture, security, and compliance teams to develop and deploy processes and automation related to shared concerns such as cloud costs, end-of-life systems, patch management, disaster recovery, and resource tagging, among others.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
β’ Minimum 5 yearsβ experience in designing, implementing, and supporting AWS Cloud-based infrastructure and Linux systems
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Certificates and Licenses: AWS SysOps Administrator - Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
β’ A passion for analysis, troubleshooting and a proactive and continuous learning mindset, with a passion for cloud technologies and career growth
β’ Expert knowledge of AWS cloud technologies
β’ Extensive knowledge of AWS cloud architecture principles, design, security and compliance.
β’ Excellent troubleshooting skills to include AWS services and networking
β’ Background and experience in Linux and Windows systems.
β’ Strong scripting experience with AWS CLI / SDKs in either Linux or Windows platforms
β’ Strong experience and understanding of infrastructure as code (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform).
β’ Strong knowledge of source code control concepts, tooling and automated deployments
β’ Practical understanding of network fundamentals (e.g. DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, HTTP).
β’ Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
β’ Experience with performance testing and tuning.
β’ Experience with monitoring frameworks (e.g. CloudWatch, New Relic).
β’ Experience in designing and building application workloads in AWS using common AWS resource types like EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3.
β’ Experience with cloud optimization from both a performance and cost perspective.
β’ Experience with AWS cloud services pricing and utilization models.
β’ Strong knowledge of AWS cloud architecture principles and services
β’ Knowledge of disaster recovery solutions in AWS cloud (ex: site reliability engineering, multi-Availability Zone, Multi-Region)
β’ Experience collaborating across functional borders enterprise-wide (i.e. within and outside of IT)
β’ Ability to pass a required background check.
β’ Tools: Bitbucket, Serverless, Step functions, Postgres, DynamoDB, S3, Python / PowerShell / cli
