Job Title: Cloud Engineer Location: Remote Experience: 5+ Years Employment Type: Contract About the Role: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Cloud Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud infrastructure design, automation, and deployment across leading platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable cloud environments while ensuring security, reliability, and cost efficiency. This position is suited for a mid-senior level professional who excels in problem-solving, automation, and implementing cloud-native solutions. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to support application and business requirements. β€’ Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates. β€’ Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring processes using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps). β€’ Ensure cloud security and compliance by implementing best practices, IAM policies, and encryption mechanisms. β€’ Monitor cloud performance, optimize resource utilization, and manage cost efficiency. β€’ Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application-related issues. β€’ Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to streamline cloud operations. β€’ Implement backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies to ensure high availability. β€’ Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and recommend improvements. Required Skills & Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. β€’ 5+ years of hands-on experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). β€’ Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security principles. β€’ Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation β€’ Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures. β€’ Proficiency in Linux/Windows administration and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell). β€’ Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools. β€’ Solid knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). β€’ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach. Preferred Qualifications: β€’ AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Engineer certification. β€’ Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments. β€’ Experience in database management on cloud (RDS, Cloud SQL, Cosmos DB). β€’ Understanding of cost optimization strategies for large-scale cloud environments. β€’ Exposure to infrastructure migration projects and enterprise cloud governance.
