Senior GCP Cloud Infra Engineer | £520/day | Hybrid – UK Job Title: Senior GCP Cloud Infra Engineer Location: Bristol, Leeds, Halifax, Manchester, Edinburgh, London (Hybrid – 2 days onsite) Contract: 6 Months +++ Rate: £520/day (Inside IR35) Positions: 4 Overview We are seeking a Senior GCP Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Public Cloud Platform team. This role will drive innovation in Google Cloud adoption by building scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure while enabling seamless business journeys. You will work within cross-disciplinary teams, implementing best practices in cloud engineering, automation, and DevOps. Key Responsibilities • Hands-on GCP Cloud Engineering with focus on DevOps and CI/CD. • Design, build, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform/Terraform Cloud. • Curate and deploy GCP Cloud Products and infrastructure components. • Automate workflows using Python scripting. • Manage Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Istio Service Mesh, and cluster operations. • Audit, restructure, and migrate Terraform modules to reusable, secure templates. • Implement security-focused IaC modules with guardrails and policy-as-code (Sentinel, OPA). • Enforce GCP Organization Policies including access management, encryption, and regional compliance. • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments. • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders on cloud strategy, design, and innovation initiatives. Essential Skills • GCP Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps expertise. • Terraform / Terraform Cloud (IaC). • Python scripting for automation. • CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub, Harness. • GKE, Containers, Istio Service Mesh. • GCP Org Policy management and policy-as-code (Sentinel/OPA). • GCP and Terraform certifications preferred. Desirable Skills • Experience as a GCP SME or Technical Consultant. • Contributing to design, architecture, and strategy decisions. • Strong collaboration, leadership, and communication skills. • Proven experience guiding multiple stakeholders and driving cloud best practices.
