Role Overview
We’re seeking an Azure Virtual Desktop SME to support and enhance enterprise-wide AVD services. You’ll work within a dedicated team to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available virtual desktop environments for end users across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and maintain all aspects of the Azure Virtual Desktop infrastructure.
• Administer host pools, golden images, user/application access, and resource groups.
• Optimise multi-user environments with FSLogix and enterprise storage.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery across AVD components.
• Provide direct user support and troubleshoot issues across pre-prod and production.
• Participate in a shared on-call rota (1-in-3).
• Collaborate with wider IT teams to improve reliability and efficiency.
Skills & Experience
• Strong, proven experience with Azure Virtual Desktop administration.
• Knowledge of Azure fundamentals: VMs, networking, RBAC, and identity.
• Hands-on with FSLogix for user profiles and storage solutions (NetApp or equivalent).
• Experience ensuring HA/DR across enterprise AVD platforms.
• Comfortable supporting large-scale environments and end-user teams.
Desirable:
• Exposure to Terraform or Infrastructure as Code pipelines.
• Microsoft Azure certifications.
