Job Description AZ Cyber Security Solutions is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer / Architect. Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer/Architect to manage the design, implementation, and lifecycle of a secure cloud computing environment within a federal agency. The role will focus on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud services, with responsibilities ranging from cloud migration to automation, cost control, and compliance. This individual will work closely with the network and system teams to provide integrated and secure hybrid infrastructure solutions. Responsibilities Architect and deploy scalable Azure and M365 solutions (VMs, networking, storage, security, identity management, data governance, automation). Manage Microsoft 365 tenant-level configurations, licensing, compliance settings, and Teams Voice integration. Support cloud-based identity and access controls using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, and MFA. Β·Automate cloud infrastructure with tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, and PowerShell. Lead or support migration of workloads and data to Azure and Microsoft 365. Monitor cloud environments using native and third-party tools for performance, security, and cost optimization. Integrate hybrid cloud environments with on-prem infrastructure (AD, networking, file servers, etc.). Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the M365 environment, including performance, functionality, and integration problems. Ensure all implementations adhere to federal guidelines (FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53). Maintain tickets, change logs, and infrastructure documentation. Preferred Skills and Tools Deep understanding of the Microsoft 365 suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and other services. Azure Virtual Network, Azure Firewall, Azure Security Center, Defender for Cloud Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, architecture, and security. Expertise in managing user identities and access controls. Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell for automation. Strong knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams. Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Sentinel (SIEM integration) Microsoft Purview for governance and data lifecycle management Microsoft Teams Voice architecture and integration with SBCs Qualifications 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or architecture roles U.S. Citizenship required Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments in an enterprise/government setting Hands-on experience with cloud migration, automation, and governance Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator, M365 Enterprise Admin Expert Job Type: Contract Pay: $126,402.02 - $152,226.08 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: Remote
