Role description
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solution Architect with strong expertise in manufacturing systems and digital transformation. This role involves designing and delivering scalable solutions that connect shop floor operations with enterprise platforms, while driving Industry 4.0 initiatives such as IoT, analytics, and digital twins. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, and IT teams to define requirements aligned with manufacturing strategies. Design scalable, secure, and efficient solutions integrating shop floor systems (MES, SCADA, Production, Quality) with enterprise applications (ERP, PLM, Reliability Insights, Connected Control Plan). Lead architecture for smart factory initiatives, including IoT, data collection, visualization, analytics, and digital twins. Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and vendors for manufacturing systems. Ensure solutions comply with enterprise standards, cybersecurity protocols, and regulatory requirements. Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, including solution design, implementation, and operations. Create and maintain architectural documentation such as blueprints, data flow diagrams, and integration patterns. Stay updated on Industry 4.0, IIoT, and manufacturing technology trends to drive continuous innovation. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred). Experience: 10+ years in IT, systems integration, or enterprise architecture. 5+ years in manufacturing or industrial automation environments. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and technologies (MES, SCADA, PLCs, HMI, DCS, Networking). Experience with ERP systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), Kubernetes, and edge computing. Knowledge of integration patterns, APIs, middleware, OPC-UA, MQTT, SQL, time series, and big data solutions. Familiarity with OT/IT cybersecurity and Industry 4.0 technologies (IIoT, ISA 95, advanced data collection, visualization). Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.
