Role description
CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking a Commercial Data Analyst to support commercial analytics initiatives within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry. This is an onsite opportunity in the Boston, MA area with a strong focus on SQL-driven analysis, Power BI reporting, and commercial data insights.
Position Overview
The Commercial Data Analyst will support increased workload within the commercial analytics function, serving as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. This role focuses on data analysis, KPI alignment, reporting development, and vendor coordination.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, managing small initiatives, and translating business requirements into actionable data insights.
Location: Boston, MA (Onsite – Fixed Location)
Duration: 9 Months (Extension Possible)
Travel: Up to 10%
Employment Type: W2
Key Responsibilities
• Support and execute commercial data analytics initiatives across multiple business areas
• Perform data discovery, validation, data quality checks, and statistical analysis
• Extract, manipulate, and analyze data using SQL
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI
• Gather, document, and align KPI requirements with business stakeholders
• Standardize data definitions and reporting frameworks across teams and vendors
• Coordinate vendor communications and ensure alignment of deliverables
• Support daily operational reporting and small project management efforts
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for analytics delivery
Required Qualifications
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis
• Experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI
• Experience working with commercial pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IQVIA, MMIT, specialty pharmacy, patient-level datasets)
• Background in business analysis and requirements gathering
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in pharmaceutical commercial analytics
• Vendor management exposure
• Experience documenting KPIs and performance reporting frameworks
