Commercial Data & Insight Analyst

A proactive Data & Insight Analyst is required to support a high-impact, data-driven project focused on understanding and optimising a complex customer and sales ledger. This role will suit a hands-on analyst with curiosity, commercial awareness, and confidence to challenge assumptions. Key Responsibilities: • Analyse complex customer and sales ledger data to uncover trends and insights • Identify early indicators of default, payment stress, and customer churn • Build and maintain data models, dashboards, and visualisations (Power BI / Excel) • Deliver clear, actionable insights to support operational and commercial decisions • Work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure analytical outputs align with business priorities • Present findings confidently, translating complex analysis into commercial recommendations Skills & Experience Required: • Proven experience in data and insight roles within the retail, energy, or utilities sector (essential) • Strong technical ability in SQL and Excel • Experience with Power BI or Tableau (advantageous) • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills • Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders • Inquisitive mindset, commercially aware, and detail-focused Focus Areas: • Customer and sales ledger analysis • Payment behaviour and transaction trends • Value and margin insight • Debt forecasting and propensity modelling • Churn and retention insight Fractional – 3 Days per Week | 3-Month Rolling Contract) Rate: £350–£425/day Hybrid: Predominantly remote, with London travel (c.1 day per month) Availability: Immediate start required
