Job Title: Compensation Analyst Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Work Arrangement: Fully Remote (CST or EST time zone preferred) Salary Range: $55,000 – $85,000 annually Hourly Rate: $26 – $41 per hour Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Compensation Analyst to support the administration and strategy of compensation programs in a fully remote capacity. This role partners closely with leadership to ensure competitive, compliant, and data-driven pay practices that support talent acquisition, retention, and organizational effectiveness. Position Summary The Compensation Analyst coordinates the daily administration of compensation programs, including annual market analysis, FLSA classification reviews, salary structure management, and incentive compensation programs. This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and applying workforce compensation data across assigned markets. The position provides consultative support to management on complex compensation matters, including pay equity, job evaluation, and labor compliance, while ensuring timely completion of weekly and monthly reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities β€’ Support planning, implementation, and administration of base pay and incentive compensation programs β€’ Conduct FLSA classification reviews and ensure compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws β€’ Perform market pricing, salary benchmarking, and compensation analysis β€’ Develop and maintain job descriptions and salary grade structures β€’ Administer annual merit processes from planning through payroll submission β€’ Design, calculate, and process quarterly and annual incentive plans β€’ Collaborate with Finance on compensation modeling, reporting, and approvals β€’ Analyze internal equity and provide recommendations for pay adjustments β€’ Perform geographic market pricing assessments across multiple entities β€’ Conduct risk and cost impact analyses related to legislative wage changes β€’ Prepare and present compensation methodologies and analytics to leadership β€’ Manage compensation survey participation and vendor relationships β€’ Develop dashboards and analytical reports to support business decisions β€’ Support compliance initiatives, audits, and process improvement efforts β€’ Maintain policies and procedures related to salary administration Compliance Responsibilities β€’ Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory compensation requirements β€’ Participate in compliance and ethics training β€’ Support internal audits and monitoring activities β€’ Report compliance concerns in accordance with established policies Required Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree preferred β€’ 1–3 years of compensation, HR analytics, or related business consulting experience β€’ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions, modeling, large dataset analysis) β€’ Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills β€’ Experience analyzing and presenting compensation data to leadership β€’ Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and data visualization tools β€’ Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment β€’ Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Skills β€’ Experience with market pricing and salary structure design β€’ Knowledge of FLSA and wage and hour compliance regulations β€’ Experience supporting incentive and variable pay programs β€’ Comfort working independently in a fully remote environment Why Work with Wheeler Staffing Partners?
