Project Coordinator II – Gas Construction Locations: Lansing, MI / Saginaw, MI (Hybrid – Onsite 3 days/week) Duration: Until April 4th 2027 (with a possibility of extension) Hiring Manager: Teka M. Ganaway – Supervisor, Gas Construction Organization About the Department: The Gas Construction division supports gas construction projects across Michigan. This team includes: • Data Miners: Track payroll, performance, productivity, and process metrics • Project Coordinators: New team responsible for automating and organizing all data collected by data miners This role pairs a Project Coordinator with a Data Miner to improve productivity, automate manual processes, and enhance real-time reporting across the field technician organization. Position Overview: The Project Coordinator II will support gas construction operations by managing data, streamlining manual workflows, and developing automated Power BI dashboards. This role is key to improving forecasting, workload planning, crew allocation, and productivity tracking across the construction zones. The position requires strong technical skills, real-time data handling, cloud application experience, and the ability to collaborate with data miners, field supervisors, and IT partners. Key Responsibilities • Track daily production workload and compare against available workforce to forecast targets. • Analyze variables affecting workload (weather, flex hours, absences, schedule changes). • Gather real-time data from Data Miners and integrate into automated dashboards. • Refresh, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards for leadership visibility. • Create, clone, and maintain dashboards and visualizations for operational continuity. • Build and maintain data repositories and cloud-based data sources. • Use Power Automate to streamline existing manual, paper-based processes. • Develop Power Apps to support field teams and internal users. • Support transfer of employees across zones based on workload demands. • Automate SAP-related data brick entries coming from data miners. • Ensure backup systems and manual override functionality in case of tech breakdowns. • Work closely with IT partners to develop and troubleshoot automation tools. • Maintain accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of all production and performance data. Required Skills & Qualifications: • 2+ years of professional experience (Open to strong candidates still in school). • Strong technical aptitude with experience in: • Power BI (highest priority) • Power Automate • Power Apps • Creating and maintaining structured data repositories • Cloud-based applications and systems • Ability to read/write/decipher code within Power BI (DAX, Power Query). • Experience with workflow automation and dashboard creation. • Ability to manage large datasets and real-time updates. • Strong analytical, forecasting, and critical-thinking skills. • Preferred: IT-related certifications. Interview Format: • Virtual interview with Teka Ganaway and an IT partner • Very technical interview – candidates must present real examples of dashboards, Power BI projects, automations, or applications they have built. • Generic answers will not be accepted; must show hands-on, project-based experience.
