Staff Data Scientist (Forecasting) – Contract – Outside IR35 – Remote (UK) OB are currently partnered with a global business rethinking how demand is forecasted across a complex, high-volume supply chain. They’re investing heavily in data and AI to improve product availability, reduce waste, and drive better commercial decisions. This is a team where data science has real ownership, with models directly influencing how products are bought, moved, and sold. You’ll be working on problems that are messy, high impact, and tied closely to real-world outcomes. Role Take ownership of forecasting systems end-to-end, building models that directly shape supply chain decisions. Responsibilities • Build and deploy forecasting models across large, multi-region datasets • Apply advanced techniques including hierarchical forecasting and foundation models • Solve cold start and sparse data challenges for new and seasonal products • Develop scalable pipelines and production-ready ML systems • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure forecasts translate into action Requirements • Strong experience in demand forecasting within supply chain or retail • Proven ability to ship ML models into production • Advanced Python and SQL • Experience with modern forecasting approaches beyond classical methods • Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment Tech stack Python, SQL, GCP, Vertex AI, Time Series Foundation Models, LLM / agent workflows Requirements / constraints UK-based, remote Outside IR35 Contract | Data Scientist | Remote | Outside IR35
