About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to drive the build-out and operationalization of a High Performance Computing (HPC) platform. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical expertise in HPC architecture, Linux systems, and scientific software deployment in a secure, scalable cloud or hybrid environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, build, and configuration of HPC infrastructure in a regulated or scientific environment
• Oversee and contribute to the deployment and optimization of Slurm-based workload management
• Administer and manage Posit (formerly RStudio) Workbench, Connect, and Package Manager
• Provide technical leadership in the deployment of MATLAB, MONOLIX, NONMEM, PsN, and other scientific software on HPC platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scientists, IT security, and DevOps
• Ensure robust documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams
• Apply best practices for security, scalability, and performance in HPC environments
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of platform issues
Essential Skills & Experience:
• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and platform engineering
• Proven experience building and managing HPC clusters
• Strong expertise in Linux system administration
• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Slurm workload manager
• Prior experience deploying and managing Posit Workbench, Connect, and Package Manager
• Experience deploying and supporting scientific software such as MATLAB, MONOLIX, NONMEM, and PsN on HPC systems
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services (Azure Fundamentals certification is a plus)
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
