Data Risk Analyst
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Risk Analyst to join the Data Risk Governance team within the Human Resources (HR) Risk Office. In this role, you will help identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to data classification, data privacy, data quality, data use, and regulatory compliance. You will support the implementation of governance frameworks that ensure effective data risk management across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Support the HR Manager in HR Data Risk in assigned tasks related to established procedures
β’ Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to identify data risks and recommend mitigation strategies
β’ Assist in compliance and maintenance of data governance policies, standards, and procedures
β’ Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)
β’ Support risk reporting through dashboards, scorecards, and executive summaries
β’ Participate in data incident investigations, root cause analysis, and remediation tracking
β’ Work with data stewards, owners, legal, and compliance teams to promote data risk awareness
β’ Maintain data risk registers and track control gaps to resolution
β’ Support data quality monitoring (rules, validations, issue tracking, workflows)
β’ Document data lineage, critical data elements, and key controls
β’ Assist with risk assessments and evidence/control activities
β’ Stay current on emerging risks, best practices, and regulatory changes
β’ Contribute to continuous improvement of data risk processes
Qualifications:
β’ 3+ years of experience in analytics, data governance, data quality, risk, or consulting
β’ Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
β’ Experience working with large datasets and building repeatable reporting
β’ Strong documentation and attention to detail
β’ Ability to work independently with minimal direction
β’ Strong communication skills (technical to business translation)
β’ Ability to handle repetitive, detail-heavy work with accuracy
β’ Bachelorβs degree or equivalent experience
Preferred:
β’ Financial services or regulated industry experience
β’ Knowledge of data governance concepts (CDEs, ownership, controls, issue management)
β’ Experience with ServiceNow, GRC tools, or data catalog platforms
β’ Experience supporting application rationalization, decommissioning, or migration efforts
