Role description
Candidate must be local to any of these states- VA /San Diego, CA or Florida.
This individual will support the development and optimization of AI-powered chatbots and voice assistants, with a focus on post-transcriptional conversational processing using Azure Cognitive Services β CLU.
Voice Pipeline Note: This role is responsible for post-transcription model tuning; voice-to-text is handled by a separate team
β’ Collaboration: Cross-functional team environment involving data scientists, engineers, and analysts
Responsibilities:The Conversational AI Engineer will be responsible for:
β’ Designing and fine-tuning Conversational Language Understanding (CLU) models using Azure Language Studio
β’ Training intents, entities, and utterances to improve chatbot and voice assistant accuracy
β’ Implementing context handling for multi-turn conversations
β’ Analyzing logs and transcripts from voice interactions to continuously improve model accuracy
β’ Conducting unit, regression, and A/B testing to validate and enhance chatbot performance
Qualifications:
β’ 5 years of experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Conversational AI
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
β’ Experience with Azure Cognitive Services β CLU and Azure Language Studio
β’ Strong knowledge of NLU principles, including intent classification and entity extraction
β’ Proven ability to analyze interaction data to optimize conversational models
β’ Experience working with or around IVR and voice-interaction platforms
β’ Excellent collaboration and communication skills
β’ Detail-oriented and analytical approach to problem-solving
Desired Skills:
β’ 5+ years of experience in AI/ML or voice assistant development (preferred)
β’ Masterβs degree in a related field
β’ Experience with Azure Bot Framework
β’ Familiarity with speech-to-text (STT) and text-to-speech (TTS) services
β’ Awareness of ethical AI practices and compliance standards
