This role will be responsible for end-to-end implementation, integration with enterprise identity and security controls, and ongoing operational support across distributed sites and users. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Windows file services, Active Directory, networking fundamentals, and storage concepts, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues across edge, cloud, and network layer Key Responsibilities: • Deploy and administer the CTERA platform (portals, tenants, user/group structures, roles, policies, and quotas). • Implement edge appliances/virtual gateways (edge filers), including site onboarding, configuration, and connectivity to the CTERA portal. • Configure file services and permissions, including SMB/CIFS shares, NTFS permissions/ACLs, and access controls. • Integrate with enterprise identity solutions (Active Directory/LDAP, SSO/SAML, MFA) and align with security requirements. • Configure and validate encryption and key management practices for data in transit and at rest. • Integrate and support back-end storage targets (e.g., S3-compatible object storage or other approved repositories). • Monitor health, performance, and capacity; tune caching/sync behavior and bandwidth controls for optimal user experience. • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents involving sync conflicts, permissions, authentication, connectivity, and performance. • Execute upgrades, patching, and change management activities; document implementation and operational runbooks. • Partner with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure successful rollout and ongoing service delivery. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, storage, or enterprise file services roles (CTERA experience strongly preferred). • Strong Windows infrastructure expertise: Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, file services, NTFS permissions/ACLs, SMB/CIFS. • Solid networking fundamentals: routing, VPNs, firewall rules/ports, TLS certificates, troubleshooting WAN/latency issues. • Understanding of storage concepts: object storage, retention policies, encryption, snapshots, and backup/restore principles. • Strong troubleshooting skills using logs, system metrics, and structured root-cause analysis. • Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Hands-on experience with CTERA Portal administration and edge filer deployment. • Experience with SSO (SAML/OIDC), MFA, and enterprise IAM patterns. • Familiarity with S3-compatible storage platforms and key management solutions (KMS/HSM). • Linux fundamentals and basic scripting (PowerShell/Bash/Python). • Experience supporting distributed/remote sites and users. Work Environment • Location: (Remote) • Travel: (as needed for site deployments) • Schedule: (standard business hours with occasional after-hours maintenance) What Success Looks Like • Smooth onboarding of sites/users with secure access and stable sync/caching behavior. • Low incident recurrence through strong documentation, monitoring, and root-cause fixes. • Reliable upgrades and change execution with minimal disruption.
