Role description
As a Customer Data Platform (CDP) Engineer specializing in Amperity, you will play a critical role in shaping and optimizing the single customer view across the enterprise. You’ll work directly within the Amperity CDP and the broader MarTech ecosystem to unify customer data, unlock actionable insights, and enable data-driven decision-making across marketing, analytics, and business teams. You’ll be the go-to expert for leveraging Amperity’s capabilities—from identity resolution and segmentation to data activation and measurement—ensuring the platform delivers maximum value to stakeholders and downstream systems. Key Responsibilities • Operate as the subject matter expert on Amperity CDP, including data ingestion, identity resolution, segmentation, and activation. • Partner with CDP Product Managers and business stakeholders to translate customer lifecycle strategies into Amperity use cases and data workflows. • Design and implement scalable data pipelines and recurring workflows within Amperity to support marketing execution, analytics, and reporting. • Build and maintain customer segments, attributes, and unified profiles using SQL and Amperity’s UI and APIs. • Lead end-to-end data projects: define requirements, prototype in Sandbox, validate outputs, and deploy to production. • Develop dashboards and visualizations to monitor customer trends and campaign performance. • Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with privacy regulations across all CDP activities. • Collaborate with engineering and data teams to integrate new data sources and destinations into Amperity. • Drive adoption of Amperity across teams by building reusable frameworks, documentation, and training materials. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or MarTech roles. • Hands-on experience with Amperity CDP in a production environment. • Proficient in SQL, including complex joins, aggregations, and window functions. • Strong understanding of customer data, identity resolution, and marketing data use cases. • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker). • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and data solutions. • Familiarity with cloud environments, especially AWS, and serverless data workflows. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Amperity APIs and automation of data workflows. • Knowledge of Python, R, or PySpark for advanced data manipulation and modeling. • Background in A/B testing, experimentation design, and campaign measurement. • Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their application in CDPs. • Exposure to broader MarTech tools such as CRMs, ESPs, and DMPs. • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.
