NO CORP TO CORP, 1099, OR 3RD PARTY RECRUITER SUBMITTALS. Job Title: Customs Project Support Analyst : 199259 Location: WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ 07677 Hourly Rate on W2: $51.92 /hr - $65.00/hr. Shift: 1st Shift Schedule – 9 am to 5 pm (Monday to Friday) Hybrid – 3 days on site (Required) – 2 days remote Contract: 1 YEAR The position would be working for HKA at the WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ facility 1 PTO day per month on the 1st of each month 11 paid holidays offered Outline: This person is the link between customs compliance, business operations, and IT systems, managing projects that ensure the company properly tracks, tests, and claims duty refunds while keeping leadership informed. They combine project management, data analysis, compliance knowledge, and cross-team coordination to make sure customs programs run smoothly. Role Overview A Customs Project Support Analyst is primarily responsible for supporting and managing projects related to customs and export compliance, specifically programs like substitution duty drawback. This role combines project management, data analysis, and cross-functional coordination to ensure that customs programs are implemented efficiently and meet regulatory requirements. Key Functions / What They Actually Do Project Leadership and Coordination Lead customs-related projects, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met. Coordinate activities across multiple departments (finance, logistics, IT, compliance, etc.). Schedule meetings, document decisions, and keep stakeholders informed. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze customs and export data to identify patterns, errors, or opportunities (like duty drawbacks). Develop reports and presentations for senior leadership showing project status and results. Requirements Gathering & Mapping Collect both technical and non-technical requirements from business and IT teams. Map business processes to technical solutions, ensuring that systems support customs and export requirements. Testing & Process Validation Develop test cases to ensure new processes or system changes work as expected. Coordinate and perform testing, and track results to ensure compliance and accuracy. Compliance & Duty Drawback Expertise Support programs like substitution duty drawback, which allows companies to claim refunds on duties paid on exported goods. Ensure projects comply with customs regulations and company policies. Communication & Documentation Maintain clear documentation of project requirements, testing, and milestones. Prepare presentations and status updates for senior management. Act as a bridge between technical teams (IT/SAP) and business teams (finance, logistics, compliance). Skills in Action Analytical Skills: Reviewing customs data, spotting discrepancies, calculating duty refunds. Project Management: Tracking milestones, coordinating stakeholders, reporting progress. Technical Skills: Using Excel extensively; optionally using SAP for tracking customs or duty data. Communication: Explaining complex customs processes to non-technical colleagues. Basic job duties may include but are not limited to: β€’ Lead customs and export control project management of substitution duty-drawback program β€’ Requirements gathering (technical and non-technical) β€’ Technical / business mapping β€’ Cross-functional stakeholder coordination and communication β€’ Meeting scheduling and documenting β€’ Develop test cases, coordinate and perform testing β€’ Milestone identification and planning β€’ Create status presentations for senior leadership EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE: 5+ years’ experience leading projects 2+ years working with customs. Prior duty drawback experience is preferred Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct detailed data analysis Experience in Microsoft Excel. Experience working in SAP is a plus Effective verbal and written communication skills Able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
