Role description
The Intersect Group is partnered with our client to find a C++/Win32 Developer.
1 year contract
Location: Irving (75039) β Onsite 5 days a week
Interview Process: 1st round is virtual (20-30 minutes); 2nd round is onsite for 2-3 hours
Must Haves:
β’ 5+ years of C++ experience in a Windows environment
β’ Extensive Windows 32 programming experience
β’ Extensive Visual C++ experience (on Windows platform)
β’ Extensive Modern C++ experience
β’ 3+ years of Python experience
β’ Someone who knows how to navigate older code
β’ Looking for strong engineers that can also do automated qualification and fixing
β’ Knows how to do defect fixing and debugging
β’ Heavy automation experience
β’ C# experience
β’ Experience with any scripting language
Preferred:
β’ Java
β’ .NET
β’ Payments industry experience
Other needs:
β’ Experience MUST be recent or current and match the years of experience listed (5+) years of experience needs to be listed on resume
β’ Candidates must also have good experience doing unit testing as this is part of the software engineer role on this team (Framework like Google Test, CppUnit, etc.)
β’ In addition, wants to see software engineers that are very focused in this area and not part of a vast experience that includes this skill set
Duties:
β’ Designs and implements new product features and implements modifications to existing product features to include technical documentation.
β’ Builds and executes unit tests for new or existing application code.
β’ Works with Customer Care team members to resolve problems with released software.
β’ Exhibits very high personal commitment to quality, software engineering best practices, and protection of sensitive consumer information.
β’ Attends daily scrum meetings, sprint planning, work estimates.
β’ Provides input into and release management decisions.
β’ Ability to drive issues to effective resolution and to find solutions to challenging, time-critical problems.
β’ Mentors team members and conducts code and test reviews.
Other duties:
β’ Participate in an agile development team, implementing user stories with automated testing to verify acceptance criteria.
β’ Participate in the design, modify, implement, and document software application changes.
β’ Participate in analysis, design, testing, and review processes.
β’ Should be able to come up with effective effort estimation based on requirements.
β’ Write product specifications, designs, and technical manuals.
β’ Evaluate third-party products and specifications.
β’ Maintain responsibility of assigned tasks by using experience/knowledge of environment to make design/development decisions.
β’ Provide feedback to peer performance reviews.
β’ Educate others (technical and non-technical) on areas of expertise.
β’ Work under the supervision of an Engineering Manager.
β’ Provide development level support for assigned products and projects throughout the development lifecycle.
β’ Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
