Role description
D365 / Power Platform Developer 2 Onsite preferred in Utah/ Remote - working MST hours 9-month contract Pay Range $45.00-50.00/hr. A Level 2 D365 / Power Platform developer should have built a real Dataverse-backed application with multiple related tables, security roles, business rules, and a working Canvas or model-driven app used by actual users. They should have implemented event-driven Power Automate flows with branching logic and error handling, plus written basic JavaScript form scripts and at least one simple C# plugin to enforce server-side business rules. They should also have deployed solutions across dev, test, and production environments using managed solutions and resolved at least one deployment issue without causing systemic chaos. This person will be working on applications to support temple maintenance and inspections Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain Microsoft Dataverse-backed applications to support temple maintenance and inspection processes. • Create and manage Dataverse tables, relationships, and data models that support operational workflows and reporting needs. • Configure and maintain security roles, field security, and access controls to ensure appropriate data access for different user groups. • Develop and enhance Canvas apps and model-driven apps used by temple operations teams and other internal stakeholders. • Implement Power Automate flows with event-driven triggers, branching logic, and error handling to automate inspection workflows, notifications, and approvals. • Write and maintain JavaScript form scripts to extend model-driven app functionality and improve user experience. • Develop C# plugins to enforce server-side business logic and maintain data integrity within Dataverse. • Package and deploy changes using managed solutions across development, test, and production environments. • Troubleshoot and resolve deployment and environment issues while maintaining system stability. • Collaborate with analysts, stakeholders, and senior developers to translate temple maintenance and inspection requirements into technical solutions. • Monitor and support existing applications by debugging issues, optimizing flows, and improving system performance. • Document application architecture, configurations, and deployment procedures to support long-term maintainability. Required Skills • 3 years of experience in a D365 / Power Platform developer role • Dataverse fundamentals — tables, relationships, security roles, forms, views, and basic solution management. If they don't understand the data model, nothing else matters. • Power Apps (Canvas + Model-driven) — able to build functional apps, use Power Fx confidently, understand delegation limits, and customize model-driven forms without breaking everything. • Power Automate workflows — build and debug flows triggered by Dataverse, handle approvals and errors, and avoid creating fragile automation spaghetti. • Light custom code skills — comfortable with JavaScript for form scripting and basic C# plugins (know what runs client-side vs server-side). • Environment & deployment awareness — understand dev/test/prod environments, managed vs unmanaged solutions, and how not to ship chaos into production. Bonus Skills: • Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
