Role Overview
Own and deliver key components spanning plugin ecosystem maintenance, developer UI development, and agent middleware innovation. This role requires strong hands-on engineering, multi-language expertise, and a deep focus on developer experience (DevEx).
Key ResponsibilitiesPlugin Ecosystem (P0 – Critical)
· Maintain and enhance Genkit model & GCP/Firebase plugins across:
o Dart, TypeScript, Go, Python
· Resolve user issues, develop new SDK plug-ins and add-ons, and ensure ecosystem stability
· Collaborate with core SDK teams for feature updates and dependency alignment
Developer UI (P1)
· Build and enhance Dev UI (Angular frontend + TypeScript/CLI backend)
· Deliver end-to-end features, testing, and performance improvements
Agent Middleware (P2)
· Develop agent middleware and marketplace capabilities
· Build reusable agentic primitives aligned to AgentFlow architecture
Friction Logging (P3)
· Use Genkit as a customer to identify and document developer pain points
Core Skills
· Strong hands-on expertise in:
o TypeScript / JavaScript
o One or more: Go, Python, Dart
o Angular / modern frontend frameworks
· Experience in SDK plugin development, CLI tools, and developer platforms
· Strong debugging and problem-solving across multi-stack environments
· Proven, active contributions to open-source projects (must provide GitHub profile)
· Demonstrated experience in:
o Raising and resolving issues
o Contributing pull requests (PRs)
o Participating in code reviews and discussions
· Ability to showcase real contributions (not just forks or passive usage)
· Strong familiarity with GitHub workflows, OSS etiquette, and community engagement
· Experience with GCP / Firebase
