Job Title: Data & AI Strategy Consultant – Engineering & InfrastructureJob Type: Part-time, Contract (4 days/week, potential to become full-time)Contract Length: 12 months (with potential extension or full-time transition) starting February 19, 2026Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours (4 days/week on site) Location: Onsite – Jersey City, NJ (NY/NJ metro area) Job Description: Paramint LLC is seeking a Data & AI Strategy Consultant to support the Engineering Solutions group of a large public-sector transportation and infrastructure organization. You will lead Data and AI strategy for an engineering-focused department: defining data governance, shaping AI adoption and governance, driving staff upskilling, and building a roadmap to move the organization up the data maturity curve. This is a high-impact, part-time (4 days/week) consulting role with strong executive visibility and the potential to transition into a full-time position. Key Responsibilities: Develop a Data Governance Strategy to support the agency’s digital transformation, including policies, standards, and processes. Design an AI Strategy focused on AI adoption, AI governance, staff upskilling, and responsible AI. Assess current Data Maturity across the organization and build a clear, staged roadmap to reach target maturity levels. Embed Responsible AI principles into the vision and roadmap; help drive culture change toward innovation and experimentation. Create a curation process for AI innovations and pilots across the organization. Define and implement an AI Governance Risk Assessment process the organization can adopt. Identify the people, processes, and technologies needed to develop, deploy, and operate AI solutions in an engineering context. Plan and manage Data Governance initiatives from discovery and baseline assessment through delivery, knowledge capture, and handoff. Collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure the department’s Data & AI strategy aligns with broader agency AI strategy. Tackle complex information and technology problems as part of wider consulting engagements; design and implement solutions that demonstrate measurable value to the department. Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders; identify opportunities for efficiency, collaboration, and return on investment. Plan and assign project work to ensure timely delivery and effective use of resources. Facilitate working groups and workshops to gather requirements and drive change, using interviews, document analysis, process mapping, and business analysis techniques. Required Qualifications: To be considered, you should have: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Data/Computer Science, or a related field; master’s degree highly desirable. 3+ years leading AI strategy and executing AI initiatives in large organizations (not just building models, but shaping adoption and governance). 5+ years of experience working in or for an engineering, design, or construction company, with a solid understanding of the tools, workflows, and business needs of this industry. 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure AI / Azure data and storage platforms and tools. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Required soft skills: Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to leadership and facilitating workshops. Self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple initiatives, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities. Work Model & Schedule Onsite role in Jersey City, NJ (NY/NJ metro area). Part-time: 4 days per week, Monday–Friday, standard business hours. The role may transition to a full-time position based on performance and program needs.
