Data Analyst Location: 100% Remote Employment Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire Position Overview We are seeking a highly analytical Data Analyst to support a growing Finance Technology team focused on enhancing enterprise data solutions that drive revenue recognition and financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical development teams while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will partner closely with finance and accounting stakeholders to understand business needs, analyze data, document technical requirements, and collaborate with developers to deliver scalable solutions. This is a highly visible role supporting critical initiatives related to revenue recognition, forecasting, and financial data management. Key Responsibilities • Partner with Finance, Accounting, and FP&A stakeholders to gather and document business requirements. • Analyze complex datasets using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to validate data, investigate issues, and understand underlying data models. • Translate functional business requirements into detailed technical specifications for development teams. • Support initiatives related to revenue recognition, financial reporting, forecasting, and General Ledger data. • Work closely with offshore development teams to coordinate requirements, answer functional questions, and support project delivery. • Assist in maturing enterprise data processes, governance, and reporting capabilities. • Participate in data mapping, validation, testing, and documentation efforts. • Create and maintain functional documentation, process flows, and technical specifications. • Support reporting and analytics initiatives using tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Required Qualifications • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Financial Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar techno-functional role. • Strong experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), including writing queries, analyzing data, understanding table relationships, and executing stored procedures. • Solid understanding of General Ledger (GL), GAAP accounting principles, revenue recognition, and financial data flows. • Experience supporting ERP or Financial Planning systems such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, or similar enterprise financial platforms. • Proven ability to gather business requirements and translate them into clear technical documentation for software development teams. • Experience collaborating with distributed or offshore development teams. • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Oracle Financial applications such as FCCS or EPBCS. • Experience performing financial data mapping and integration activities. • Exposure to Power BI and/or Tableau for reporting and dashboard development. • Experience supporting Finance IT, Corporate Finance, Accounting Systems, or FP&A technology teams. • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
