Role description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role will partner closely with cross-functional teams including underwriting, claims, actuarial, and finance to deliver insights that drive business performance, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with large datasets, building dashboards, and translating business needs into actionable analysis. This is a 6-month contract to hire opportunity. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this opportunity. Key Responsibilities β€’ Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement β€’ Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for business stakeholders β€’ Partner with underwriting, claims, actuarial, and finance teams to support strategic initiatives β€’ Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality checks to ensure data integrity β€’ Translate business requirements into SQL queries and analytical models β€’ Support regulatory reporting and compliance-related data requests β€’ Conduct ad hoc analysis to support executive and operational decision-making β€’ Document processes, data definitions, and reporting logic β€’ Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization Required Qualifications β€’ 7+ years of strong SQL experience, including complex query development and performance optimization β€’ 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience in production environments β€’ 3+ years of experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; other cloud platforms will be considered) β€’ 3+ years of hands-on experience with ETL tools, preferably DataStage (Informatica acceptable) β€’ 1–3 years of experience with dbt Core or dbt Cloud β€’ 2+ years of Python experience focused on data processing and automation β€’ Proven hands-on expertise in SQL, Snowflake, and dbt β€’ Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts β€’ Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience in insurance, financial services, or healthcare industries β€’ Knowledge of industry metrics such as loss ratios, claim trends, and underwriting KPIs β€’ Experience with Python or R for data analysis β€’ Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts β€’ Experience working in an Agile or cross-functional team environment
