Role description
A leading financial services organization is seeking a Data Analyst (Payments) to support a large-scale Identity Account Management (IAM) modernization effort. The company has launched a new in-house platform for Visa and Mastercard and is now reconciling 20+ years of legacy data across multiple systems.
This is a high-visibility role that requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to translate messy, legacy data into clear insights for leadership.
📍 Location: Hybrid
• Onsite 3 days/week: Riverwoods, IL headquarters or Chicago Loop office
• Work from home Mondays + Fridays
• Rate: $58–$85/hr (W2) — based on experience
• Contract: 12 months
About the Work
You will partner with product owners and payments stakeholders to:
• Reconcile and validate discrepancies across legacy IAM platforms
• Transform raw data into stories and visualizations that drive business decisions
• Identify gaps, mismatches, and structural inconsistencies
• Translate patterns and anomalies into clear explanations for leadership
• Support the migration of IIN/BIN data into a new centralized system
• Work closely with the hiring manager to present findings in a clear, narrative format
This role is data-first, not dashboard-beautification.
They need someone who can interpret the data, not just visualize it.
✔️ What You’ll Do
• Analyze large and unstructured datasets across legacy payment systems
• Create Tableau visualizations that highlight discrepancies and data patterns
• Write SQL queries in Snowflake to extract, transform, and verify data
• Build clear narratives and insights using data
• Support reconciliation efforts for IIN/BIN-related records
• Present findings to senior stakeholders and product owners
• Produce ongoing reports, scorecards, and dashboards
• Provide analytical support for IAM data initiatives
✔️ Qualifications
• Tableau (must be able to interpret data, not just build dashboards)
• SQL (strong queries, joins, transformations)
• Snowflake (hands-on experience)
• Excel (advanced: VLOOKUP, pivot tables, Power Query)
• Strong data storytelling & communication skills
• Data reconciliation experience
• Ability to work with messy, unstructured legacy data
✔️ Preferred Skills (Bonus)
• Payments or financial services background
• Experience with IIN/BIN
• ServiceNow exposure
