The Vacancy
OVERALL SUMMARY
Contribute to the delivery of the strategic objectives of Close through the provision of Data Analytics. This will include reports, vendor exports, data warehousing tasks and ad hoc data related project support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The role will involve applying data analysis knowledge to the business data estate. The candidate will need to:
Assist with Data Migration activities, ETL and mapping
Provide data cleansing and analysis skills to meet often complex business data needs.
Contribute to the development of the data analysis approach and deliverables, and improve the integration with other disciplines across the business.
Lead data requirements gathering and elicitation using a range of analysis tools and techniques.
Be able to write and perform SQL scripts to filter and join varied data sets
Develop new SSIS/SSRS/SSAS packages to meet business needs
Produce visualisations using a range of technologies such as SSRS / Power BI / DAX
Work with Senior Management and up to Executive level to facilitate the sign off / agreement of solutions and recommendations.
Strong team working skills, with an ability to travel around the national office network to complete projects onsite where required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills β must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing.
Regulatory responsibilities Β¦ Compliance/T&C
Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the role, whilst practising effective risk management taking account of outcomes for clients.
Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business. Follow principles and rules of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the internal requirements set out in the Compliance Manual, local and Group Compliance and Risk policies.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
Experience of building, enhancing and utilising Data Warehousing through SQL, providing Data Analytics, complex data queries and joins and subsequently use of Power BI to present the results
Data intuition and a data driven approach to problem solving, ability to find trends and derive insight from large data sets, presentation and visualisation, translation to organisational value add, agreeing and reporting on KPIs, developing a Power BI community
Experience of financial services β particularly within financial planning advice firms and the wealth management industry. Front Office experience is an advantage.
Experience across packaged and bespoke systems and infrastructure β particular understanding of SAP, PeopleFluent and other HR related Systems. Additionally, as this role will be focused on migration of sensitive data between systems, a high degree of discretion will be expected.
Experience in implementation of reporting solutions and MI to underpin or enhance Investment management solutions including discretionary, model portfolios and unitised funds; Operating and Servicing models, CRM, Financial planning tools, Wrappers including SIPP, ISA and JISA.
Experience in understanding and defining βas isβ and βto beβ states of MI & Reporting.
The role will be required to provide and manage workload to elapsed time and man day estimates for data analysis work to inform the project plan.
The candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders at all organisational levels.
The candidate will support relationships with external suppliers, contractors and/or consultants as required in order to deliver assignments.
Knowledge of Azure / Cloud based technologies would be an advantage (AWS Data lakes / Amazon Quicksight / Amazon Aurora)
