Data Analyst

Director of Project Controls for Engineering & Construction needs to contract a Data Analyst to directly help with many ad hoc activities that require the ability to gather lots of data, clean it up, and make it actionable. There are general templates and reports in place, but the process of data extraction, data clean-up, reaching out to Project Managers and Directors for feedback, and final report development is a very time-consuming activity that requires a good level of organization, connecting well with others, and strong/expert Excel skills. Requirements: Work In office, 40 hours per week in the Houston, Main St. office Very high proficiency with Excel Well-spoken and great at networking and following up with customers (project managers, directors, engineers) without burning bridges Skilled at data extraction (from SAP and other sources), data clean up, documentation, and good attention to detail to ensure formulas are producing accurate information Responsibilities PROCOM – This is a custom built Project Tracking and Reporting Tool Learn this tool inside and out to: Provide training to new Users and existing Users that have questions Support the development of future phases and enhancements of the tool Data Migration of projects and scope data for the 2nd phase implementation of this tool Create exception reporting by exporting data and determining if statuses or fields need to be updated to support accurate information Develop a list of frequently asked questions and responses to support development of Chatbot functionality for the Tool Project Performance Metrics – Quarterly report that pulls all Engineering and Construction projects, organizes the data, weeds out the outliers, and provides clear metrics to Executive Leadership on Budget vs Actuals performance Same information, but also done monthly for the Well Connect Project Group Benchmarking Data Collection – Monthly process to extract project data to determine new projects that are needed to be added to the data set Find project scope information by looking at other resources and/or reaching out to project managers Evaluating the data to identify outliers to ensure all data is accurate and usable Safety Team Report – Quarterly report to run all E&C projects and provide a forecast of upcoming projects going in-service along with locations and capital spend Supplement Report – Monthly report to extract project data and determine which projects require supplements/revisions based on forecast being higher than budgets and gathering supporting detail for a monthly review with executives
