Data Analyst - R&D Business Operations Location: Remote – Newbury Park, CA (PST preferred) Employment Type: Contingent Worker (Contract, W2) Contract Length: 12 months (possible extension) Compensation: $43/$48 per hour (based on experience) Summary of the Role Join a large biotech pharmaceutical leader as a hands-on Data Analyst supporting R&D Business Operations. In this role, you will leverage the Microsoft analytics ecosystem to pull, clean, automate, and visualize complex datasets that drive supplier management and operational optimization. This position is execution-focused and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, partners cross-functionally, and builds scalable data solutions that improve decision-making and efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain dashboards for supplier performance tracking and operational insights • Develop and customize analytical applications using structured data outputs • Partner with business stakeholders to iteratively refine dashboards and reporting tools • Collaborate with IS and Data Engineering teams to align on data models and pipelines • Develop, monitor, and report supplier KPIs and performance metrics • Identify and implement automation solutions using Power Automate and related tools • Prototype AI-driven enhancements to improve workflow efficiency • Coordinate delivery of analytics and automation initiatives on schedule Qualifications • Hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Excel, and SharePoint • Strong data transformation skills including cleaning, filtering, restructuring, and validation • Experience developing dashboards, automated comparisons, and alerting systems • Proven ability to independently deliver analytics solutions in technically demanding environments • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver organized, timely outputs Top 3 Must Have Skills 1. Power BI dashboard development and data visualization expertise 1. Advanced data transformation and dataset management experience 1.
