Role description
Title: Data Analyst -- (Insurance Industry Experience Preferred) Location: Remote Duration: 6 months Contract Max PR: $60/hr - $90/hr Role Summary: • Expert in SQL (preferably in a Snowflake environment) • Window Functions, Aggregations, and CTEs • Real-world application, not just in school • Build new queries from scratch on unfamiliar data and verify accuracy and debug as necessary • Experience creating dashboards, preferably in Power BI but also Tableau • Strong in Python with working knowledge of R and SAS, a plus • Data Wrangling and ETL experience is a plus • Usage of AI to streamline data analysis and reporting tasks • Strong Excel skills that are demonstrable (Pivot tables, functions, visualizations) • Competencies and Skills: • Analytics background w/ experience in one or more of the following: decision/data science, business intelligence, and/or data engineering. • An analyst who can work under minimal supervision and complete tasks given to them by other teammates. • Experience building financial models, forecasts, statistical models, and cost-benefit analysis for business cases • Needs to be able to know how to apply various data analysis techniques to gain insights about business problems (e.g., why customers are leaving) and measure the effectiveness of programs/projects. • Ability to pull data from fragmented data environments, convert it to insights, and provide those insights to be presented on • Curiosity/problem solving / critical thinking: needs to be creative about different ways to find data and analyze/build calculations • Must be able to adapt on the fly to changing business priorities and show a willingness to collaborate with the team and business partners • Able to manage multiple projects at once with varying degrees of prioritization while communicating honestly about current workload • Must perform collaborative work/analytics across team verticals, working with product, underwriting, channel data, IT, etc • Experience with survey data specifically for customer experience (NPS, CSAT, etc.) and other customer experience analytics like NRR, CLTV • Solid problem-solving and ability to provide data analysis strategies for new or in-flight projects • Ability to communicate and summarize key insights with storytelling visualizations • Communication skills: ability to build relationships with stakeholders and provide data-driven storytelling • An insurance background or knowledge will be helpful, but not necessary • Statistical background, having built forecasting models, regression models, or similar Background/Degrees: • Statistics, Math, Business Analytics, Data Engineering/Data Science, or related field, undergraduate or master's equivalent The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, paid parking/public transportation, paid time off, paid sick and safe time, hours of paid vacation time, weeks of paid parental leave, and paid holidays annually - as applicable.
