Data Analyst - Big Data

Job Title: Data Analyst - Big Data Location: Mountain View, CA (Hybrid) Duration: 6 months Pay rate: $70-80/hr on W2 Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to support data analysis, data pipeline development, and large-scale dataset creation within a cross-functional team environment. This role is heavily focused on building and optimizing datasets that power downstream analytics, modeling, and business decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise (SQL, Python, big data technologies) with excellent stakeholder communication skills and the ability to independently drive projects forward in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: • Gather and clarify business requirements through stakeholder meetings. • Design, build, optimize, and maintain large-scale data pipelines. • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and transform data. • Use Hive, Spark SQL, or PySpark to process large datasets. • Perform extensive data QA to ensure dataset accuracy and alignment with business questions. • Develop clean, structured datasets to support analytics and modeling initiatives. • Conduct data analysis and reporting using Python. • Collaborate with a team of 67 cross-functional members. • Present findings and occasionally lead stakeholder discussions. • Remove roadblocks independently and proactively communicate progress. Required Qualifications: • Strong proficiency in SQL (advanced querying and optimization). • Strong proficiency in Python (hands-on coding for analysis; all analysis is conducted in Python). • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines. • Experience working with large-scale datasets. • Experience with Hive, Spark SQL, or PySpark. • Experience in data analysis, data reporting, and data visualization. • Experience with Tableau (secondary requirement; data work is primary focus). • Strong data QA and validation skills. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Self-starter with ability to ramp quickly and work independently. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in marketing analytics or marketing analysis. • Background working in large organizations handling high data volumes.
