Role Overview
A boutique capital markets firm is seeking a Data Analyst to join its investment and operations team. The analyst will manage data collection, refinement, and reporting processes that are critical to the firm’s decision making and investor communications. This position will enhance the firm’s data analysis capabilities, integrate data into the CRM system, and support quarterly investor reporting.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze investment and portfolio data to support decision making for management, investment professionals, and investors
• Develop dashboards and data visualizations to track portfolio company performance
• Lead data collection and refinement for quarterly investor reporting, ensuring accuracy and consistency
• Maintain and improve reporting models and data systems to ensure continuity and reliability
• Oversee third-party reporting and analytics tools, recommend improvements, and implement new features
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as data analytics, computer science, or information technology
• 2–3 years of experience in a data-focused role, ideally within financial services or capital markets
• Solid understanding of finance and accounting fundamentals
• Expert-level Excel skills, including Index Match, nested formulas, pivot tables, and VBA
• Strong SQL skills; experience with R is a plus
• Strong data logic and a systematic approach to analysis and preparation
• Experience building presentation materials in PowerPoint, including investor-ready quarterly report decks
• Familiarity with database management and CRM systems; Salesforce experience is a plus
