South River Federal Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Data Cataloging Analyst to support enterprise data governance and catalog development efforts for the Defense Health Agency (DHA). This role is responsible for capturing, documenting, and validating metadata to support the creation of a comprehensive baseline data inventory and enterprise data catalog.
The Data Cataloging Analyst works directly with system owners, stewards, and subject matter experts to conduct structured discovery sessions, document system attributes, and populate metadata repositories. This position ensures metadata accuracy, completeness, and alignment with governance standards while identifying and resolving discrepancies through stakeholder coordination.
This is a technical analytical role focused on system-level metadata documentation while contributing to broader enterprise catalog integration. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and committed to improving enterprise data visibility and governance in support of DHA’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct structured interviews with system stakeholders
· Populate metadata repositories and governance documentation
· Validate metadata completeness and accuracy
· Track stewardship confirmations and governance approvals
· Review automation outputs for accuracy and alignment with SME input
· Identify discrepancies requiring clarification
· Support usability testing and adoption activities
Qualifications
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
· Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting analytics, data management, or consulting initiatives
· Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
· Ability to work with both technical teams and operational stakeholders
Preferred
· Experience with metadata management tools
· Experience supporting federal or healthcare data environments
