Based primarily at Snowdon Timber Products’ headquarters in Bangor (North Wales), with joint supervision and access to academic expertise at Bangor University, this role offers a unique chance to combine commercial delivery with advanced analytical development.
This KTP project will design, build and embed scalable digital infrastructure, data capture and analytics capability across the Snowdon Timber Products business. The postholder will lead the end-to-end delivery of the project, helping Snowdon Timber Products unify its data, improve commercial insight, increase operational efficiency, and embed a lasting culture of data-led decision-making.
A typical week may include project leadership meetings, academic supervision sessions, hands-on analytics development, stakeholder engagement across operational teams, and training or capability-building activities.
Candidates should be educated to an undergraduate (or Merit postgraduate) degree in data analytics or a related field or demonstrable skills / experience.
Ability and enthusiasm for Knowledge Transfer are essential. The preferred candidate will be an ambitious professional keen to take ownership of a significant digital transformation project while accelerating their career through a supported KTP framework.
The salary offered will be circa £39,000 to £42,000 with a £4000 personal training budget and 2 residential management training courses provided.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence in May 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The role is available for 28 months and, subject to funding, there will be an opportunity to discuss a permanent role directly with Snowdon Timber Products at the end of the project period.

Purpose of the Job
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to lead a collaborative innovation project between Snowdon Timber Products Ltd and Bangor University. The project will embed data analytics capability within the organisation by developing a scalable digital architecture system that can match the company’s data requirements in a rapidly changing market environment. This will be achieved by working with stakeholders throughout the organisation to establish those data requirements and training to encourage buy-in for the substantial culture change that will be needed to fully exploit this new digital market for timber products.
As the person driving the KTP, the postholder will be integrated into Snowdon Timber Products Operations Team and will lead the project with supervision and mentorship from experts at both Snowdon Timber Products Ltd and the Albert Gubay Business School. As the primary researcher on the project, the candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently and with academic rigour, while also being able to build relationships and work effectively as part of a team. The candidate will therefore need excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and first-rate interpersonal and communication skills. These skills are necessary to deliver organisational change, through innovation, in an efficient business and production environment. The role will require the postholder to work extremely closely with stakeholders within and outside the organisation to establish the company’s analytics capabilities.
