Role description

This is a pivotal opportunity to directly influence the user experience and the future direction of AI-generated content by developing robust evaluation methodologies that set new industry standards. This is a 12 month contract role, hybrid working model 3 days in their London office and 2 days at home, paying £25p/h + holiday pay In this impactful role, you will be instrumental in shaping the quality of next-generation AI. You will collaborate closely with a dynamic team to prototype, refine, and scale evaluation protocols for sophisticated image and video generative models. Your contributions will directly address the complex challenge of measuring quality in generative AI, ensuring that the subtle nuances of model output align with user expectations and deliver exceptional experiences. This is a chance to apply your analytical skills to solve novel problems, identify critical model improvements, and drive the evolution of AI capabilities. What You’ll Do • Collaborate with the team to prototype and develop human rating and semi-automatic model evaluation protocols. • Conduct small-to-medium scale in-house human ratings on generated content, particularly for high-stakes or complex protocols. • Work alongside engineers to analyze evaluation results, identify model gaps, and summarize key findings. • Partner with engineers to determine necessary data for model improvements, then mine and prepare this data for subsequent training iterations. • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to scale up validated evaluation protocols, including auditing and ongoing management. What You’ll Bring • • Must-Have Qualifications: • • • Associate’s degree or equivalent training in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Bioinformatics, or another STEM subject. • Basic proficiency in Python, Unix, and SQL. • Foundational knowledge of computer vision and generative models. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills. • Keen attention to detail and a natural aptitude for experimental investigations. • Ability to work independently and effectively manage your time. Nice-to-Have Qualifications • Prior industrial experience in software development and testing. • Research experience in human-computer interaction.
