Data Analyst | Edinburgh | Remote | £450 - £480 per day
We're working with a major financial services powerhouse undergoing a massive digital transformation on this exciting opportunity. We are looking for a high-impact Data Analyst to overhaul legacy architectures and drive data integrity using Power BI and SQL.
This is a chance to play a pivotal role in a large-scale platform evolution, moving away from fragmented component systems into a streamlined, automated future. You will be the bridge between complex data structures and actionable business insights, ensuring every byte of data serves a strategic purpose.
The Role
• Map and document sophisticated end-to-end data flows, integrating downstream systems with enterprise-grade data warehouse environments.
• Design and validate future-state processes within advanced project management tools to eliminate data duplication and manual entry.
• Define architecture-aligned data structures that support rapid business scaling and enhanced operational efficiency.
• Collaborate directly with technical squads to translate high-level business requirements into technical integration specifications.
• Ensure data quality by performing rigorous testing and validation of new data flows and automated transformation scripts.
What You'll Need
• Expert-level Power BI skills, specifically within model design, DAX, and complex performance tuning for large datasets.
• Deep technical proficiency in SQL and T-SQL for querying, transforming, and validating data across diverse environments.
• Proven experience in Power Query for advanced data preparation and streamlining ETL-like processes.
• A track record of developing certified, reusable datasets that serve multiple functional domains across an enterprise.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and translate insights for stakeholders ranging from C-suite executives to technical analysts.
