Job Summary
The Data Analyst will support strategic business initiatives by developing accurate, insightful, and actionable reports using internal and external data sources. This role will focus on analyzing digital retail data, supporting advertising and marketing efforts, and enhancing business decisions through statistical and analytical tools. The ideal candidate brings both technical proficiency and business acumen, with a strong interest in the evolving digital and subscription-based media landscape.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop concise, accurate, and actionable reports to measure the performance of business initiatives.
β’ Create statistical models and analytical tools that support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
β’ Gather and analyze internal data and external retail and digital data to provide key insights.
β’ Perform retail analysis to evaluate and support advertising investments and marketing program efficiency.
β’ Manage large datasets for reporting and ensure timely and accurate distribution to stakeholders including internal teams, labels, and customers.
β’ Translate complex data findings into clear insights that support business strategies and decision-making.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of data reporting with strategic goals.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Business, or related field.
β’ 2+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar analytical role (media, entertainment, or digital subscription industry preferred).
Skills & Knowledge
β’ Strong understanding of statistics, mathematical modeling, and analytical frameworks.
β’ Proven experience with SQL, Google BigQuery, and relational databases.
β’ Proficiency in data visualization and dashboard tools such as Tableau, DOMO, or equivalent.
β’ Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
β’ Working knowledge of Python and/or experience with APIs and data scraping technologies a plus.
β’ Ability to interpret data, identify patterns and trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
β’ Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
β’ Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
β’ Deep knowledge or interest in digital music platforms, streaming, and entertainment industry trends.
