Role description
A leading enterprise organization is seeking an experienced Data Analyst with a strong background in automotive and captive lending accounting/financial reporting. This role will support a large-scale transformation project by mapping reporting data across multiple legacy and modern source systems.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of financial data expertise, data mapping skills, and knowledge of system architectures-including both mainframe (VSAM, DB2) and cloud environments (Snowflake, SAP). This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, strong technical skills in SQL, and the ability to trace data from reporting outputs back to source systems with accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Perform detailed data mapping between financial schedules, reporting layers, and source system fields.
β’ Trace and document data lineage including mapping rules, transformation logic, and reconciliation processes.
β’ Collaborate with Accounting, IT, and Data teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of mapped data.
β’ Support reconciliation efforts to align source data with financial statements and schedules.
β’ Analyze data from General Ledger (GL), accounting, and financial reporting systems to capture key fields and variance calculations.
β’ Provide clear and auditable documentation that supports compliance and financial reporting standards.
Required Qualifications
β’ 6-8+ years of experience in data analysis with a focus on financial/accounting data.
β’ Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial schedules, and reporting structures.
β’ Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and database technologies (Snowflake, DB2).
β’ Hands-on experience with SAP (AP/AR knowledge is a plus).
β’ Proven track record in data mapping, lineage documentation, and reconciliations.
β’ Bachelor's degree required.
β’ Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with mainframe systems (VSAM, DB2).
β’ Exposure to large enterprise accounting/reporting applications.
β’ Familiarity with financial compliance and audit requirements.
