We are seeking a Data Analyst with circa 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent, in data analytics, insight generation and data visualization; The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of SQL and PySpark, and a good knowledge of Python programming.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Fintech department and Commercial Analytics Team. As a member of this team the individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining PySpark data tables, translating business requirements into production code, and ensuring data quality through systematic validation.
A key aspect of the role includes assisting in documenting data lineage and technical processes to ensure knowledge sharing across the team. Your analytical mindset will help drive improvements in our data infrastructure while maintaining high standards of data quality and reliability.
You will implement and maintain PySpark tables following established data models and best practices.
The role involves translating business requirements into technical specifications, particularly focusing on payment cost analysis. You'll support data quality initiatives through table refinement and validation while collaborating with senior analysts to implement robust data solutions.
You will collaborate with other analysts on data related to payments analysis and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure. Working closely with the team, they will help refine existing tables and develop new solutions to meet evolving business needs.
You will work independently on data collection, preparation and writing production-ready code.
Uses their past experience and seeks for help in complex scenarios to translate business problems into data driven insights.
In order to be successful in this role it is likely that you will posses some or all of the following skills, attributes and experience :-
• Educational background in a quantitative field - Preferably a Master's degree
• 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, insight generation and data visualization, or equivalent - Ideally within a Payments, financial services or fintech environment
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and PySpark, and a good knowledge of Python programming principles
• Experience working with large datasets, data transformation and big data pipelines
• Familiarity with Big data platforms and version control is a big plus
• Able to understand details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture
• Is flexible in adopting and proposing new approaches and expanding their technical competencies when a more efficient way presents itself.
• Leverages available big data platforms to run root cause analysis and data reconciliations.
• Maintains and drives key reports, metrics and workflows running within their scope.
• Actively participates in analytics team activities and suggest ways of achieving objectives (standup, planning meeting, retrospectives).
• Familiarity with financial metrics is a big plus
