Role description
Tech Valley Talent (TVT) has a great long-term role for a Data Analyst with prior experience in the energy sector. DURATION: 36 Months LOCATION: Albany, NY– Remote but prefer individuals located in EST or CST • • • • NO THIRD PARTIES, PASS THRUS OR C2C - ONLY W2 • • • • Support the Clean and Resilient Building's (CRB) team in improving its ability to collect, standardize and analyze its project data. Leverage NYSERDA project data to fulfill data requests and analyses, and in support of developing market insights. Qualifications • Experience with building energy systems, efficiency technologies and building energy data • Proven experience or ability in developing data structures and systems that effectively generate insights to inform strategy, planning and/or operations • A self-starter who functions well independently and in teams • Exemplary project management skills with the ability to set priorities, develop and execute on a workplan • Ability to communicate persuasively, concisely and unambiguously in speech and writing • Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a proactive and collaborative style • Strong verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills • Proficiency in Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams) • Familiarity with Salesforce • 3+ years of relevant experience in data science/analytics and building energy efficiency • Strong data analysis and data visualization skills (e.g Tableau) • Understanding of fundamentals of databases and data architecture • Experience with programming language (e.g., SQL or Python) • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in data science, building science, engineering or related field • Microsoft Office Suite, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams), Salesforce, Tableau, SQL or Python Responsibilities • Provide data analytics, reporting and research support for advancing the clean energy transition in buildings in NYS • Ensure data quality and completeness of NYSERDA program data • Create dashboards and other analytical tools to facilitate operational management and oversight of NYSERDA's portfolio of building efficiency programs • Identify opportunities for improvement in data collection and storage processes, such as ability to collect and store data in Salesforce, and derive insights from additional datasets such as building performance data • Collaborate on cross-team projects and coordination of key buildings data sets across internal teams and business units at NYSERDA used for research • Work to inform continuous improvement of data sets • Support with market research and tracking trends in the building energy space • Other duties as required that support the key outcomes of the clean and resilient buildings team TVT is an Information Technology (IT) professional business leader providing IT services to the public sector.
