Role description
Job Title: Data Analyst Location: San Jose/Hybrid 6+ Months Contract W2 contract Only Job Description: We are multi-disciplinary with a broad spectrum of industry experiences and deep analytical and quantitative expertise. We are currently seeking a high energy, driven, collaborative team member that brings extensive problem-solving skills to further the goal of applying cutting-edge risk analytics, insights and visualization to drive the risk management roadmap. The role is data and analytically intensive. Successful candidates should be quick learners, strategic problem solvers, operational and execution driven facilitators, problem solvers, and have an entrepreneurial spirit. This role is heavily cross-functional and ideal for candidates who enjoy both defining and solving complex problems, while getting deeply involved in the classification domain and product partners. Skills in problem definition, rigorous analysis, and recommendation development will also be essential as well as demonstration of exceptional interpersonal skills, initiative and integrity. Key Responsibilities Develop Risk Insights: Extract and analyze data from large incidents, near misses, and product/portfolio analysis to uncover critical insights for improving risk controls. Design and Implement Risk Policies: Contribute to the creation and deployment of risk policy frameworks to effectively manage credit risk, fraud prevention, product and portfolio risks, access policies, limits, and funds availability. Monitor and Optimize Risk Strategies: Continuously track the performance of existing risk strategies, identifying areas for improvement across policies, operations, and outputs. Collaborate for Global Risk Management: Partner with cross-functional risk teams to establish and deliver scalable, global risk management policies throughout the buyer lifecycle. Build Strategic Partnerships: Foster relationships with regional business partners, product owners, engineering, incident management, and risk operations to align on objectives, prioritize initiatives, and support the implementation of key risk strategies. Requirements: ?6 years of data experience - REQUIRED. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, particularly with SQL – Required. Proficiency in python is a plus. Experience with machine learning frameworks and models is a plus. Risk experience is a plus. Experience in building dashboards with Tableau that enable user self-discovery and drive insights – Required. Bachelors/Masters degree in Statistics, Engineering, Operations Research, mathematics, risk management, finance or related fields. Communicate ideas succinctly and accurately; tailor your communication to a broad range of audiences; active listening and good presentation skills.
