Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst with a strong background in Upstream Oil & Gas, specifically Drilling & Completions data. This role requires expertise in querying, analyzing, and visualizing complex datasets to support business decision-making.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in data analysis, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and experienced in transforming raw data into actionable insights.
Required Qualifications
• Must be local and available to work onsite 100%
• W2 only – no Corp-to-Corp (C2C) arrangements
• Must have experience with Upstream Drilling & Completions datasets
• Advanced proficiency in SQL
• Strong experience with either Power BI or Spotfire (bonus if experienced with both)
• Upstream Oil & Gas industry experience is required
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
Key Responsibilities
• Import, cleanse, validate, and analyze large datasets
• Query and manipulate data using advanced SQL
• Identify trends, patterns, and business insights from data
• Create dashboards, reports, charts, graphs, and tables using Power BI and/or Spotfire
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy across reporting processes
• Support data-driven initiatives within Upstream Drilling & Completions operations
Qualifications
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills
• Experience in report generation and data analysis
• Advanced SQL proficiency
• Proficient in Power BI or Spotfire (both preferred)
• Experience with Upstream Drilling & Completions datasets is required
• Experience with Databricks, Python, and data engineering is highly preferred
• Expert-level data analysis experience; professional certifications are a plus
Priority will be given to candidates who have both Power BI and Spotfire experience, along with strong Upstream Drilling & Completions expertise.
