Data Analyst

Position: Data Architect / Data Analyst | W2 - CONTRACT ROLE Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite) Contract Type: Contract with Possible Extension or Hire Role Overview The Client is seeking a senior-level Data Analyst to support reporting, analytics, and data warehouse initiatives following a recent tax accounting system migration. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role that also functions as a business analyst when required, working closely with business SMEs and IT teams to ensure accurate and consistent data understanding. Key Responsibilities: • Lead refinement, validation, and documentation of the enterprise data dictionary • Work directly with business SMEs to define and validate data definitions, calculations, and business rules • Act as a business analyst to bridge business requirements and technical implementation • Design, develop, and maintain reports using Power BI and SSRS • Support conversion and redevelopment of reports impacted by system migrations • Provide advanced SQL Server expertise, including complex queries, functions, and stored procedures • Support data warehouse development, optimization, and indexing strategies • Identify data quality issues and collaborate with technical teams on resolutions • Document data lineage, transformations, and reporting logic • Communicate progress, risks, and data issues to the IT Project Manager Required Qualifications: • 7+ years of professional data analysis or business intelligence experience • Strong experience working in production environments under tight timelines • Advanced SQL Server skills (performance tuning, complex queries, table partitioning) • Hands-on experience with Power BI and/or SSRS • Strong background in data warehouse environments • Proven ability to gather and document requirements directly from business stakeholders • Experience collaborating with SMEs, business analysts, developers, and project managers
